Canon Sd1200Is – Great Little Camera!
After dropping my SD1100 in the ocean, I was a bit miffed to find the upgrade (the Canon SD1200IS) actually cheaper than the model I had wanted. But I purchased the new one anyhow and although it's taken some getting used to, I love the features and the portability (believe me, I'm much more careful now!). I will say, though, that the color was a bit more teal than steely blue like my old one, but I love that there is no delay when I hit the power button, that the zoom is incredible (perfect for taking pics of the kids at the playground without them knowing), and the shutter speed is fast! No more missed shots due to a delay. Plus, the price is great-- how can you get a cheaper camera with all these features?!
Canon SD1200IS – Awesome Camera
Before purchasing this camera I purchased the Casio Exilim S5. I previously owned a Casio that I loved so I figured I'd stay with the same brand. Little did I know the S5 did not even come close to my old Casio. Annoyed that I had to return it, I went to my local electronic stores to see what they recommended for me. Both stores I went to recommended this camera and said I would be disappointed in it. They explained to me in detail the difference between this camera and the S5 and why the S5 didn't take good pictures. I also remembered that I have a friend that had this camera, I played around with hers for a while and immediately knew that this was the camera for me. I ordered it and within two days it was at my door step.
PROS:
Clear Pictures
Zoom feature works great, I was able to zoom really close to an object and still get a clear picture
Video is good too, you are able to zoom while in video mode which is nice to have
The camera is easy to use
The color is awesome (it is a red/Pink Color as stated, but it seems more of a hot pink, which I love)
The camera is built well, it seems sturdy.
The price is good.
CONS: (If I had to come up with some, not really major and definitely not deal breakers)
You can always here the camera refocusing which can get a little annoying (but its not a big deal at all because you always get a good picture)
The camera is not as slim as some cameras out there, but by no means is it extremely thick(The S5 I ordered was a thin camera but it was very cheaply made, this camera is thicker but it feels like it is well built and will not break as easily, personally I'd rather have the camera that is thicker and well made vs. the thin cheaply made one.
